Are you trying to adopt an animal in Farmville?  Adoption is a fairly  straight forward process in Zynga’s Farmville.

When you click the adopt link, a message will be displayed informing you if you are the first to adopt the animal.  I always read the entire message because it looks real similar to the  “sorry, someone else has already given the cow/duck/sheep a home”.  Both messages display a picture of the smiling animal.  Check in your gift box immediately as the successful adoption will be shown there.

I found this Farmville adoption tip in a forum.   Track down your neighbors and friends roaming animals.  This gives you the ability to track them down and adopt them.  Your Facebook news-feed will display an alert.  You have to be quick as others see the news-feed and may click before you and thus cheating you out of an opportunity to adopt the animal.

After the roaming animal is rescued, just leave it in your gift box. This allows up to 8 additional people to adopt the animal.  If you place the roaming animal on your own farm immediately after you adopt it prevents others from adopting it.  It’s better to multiply the number of times that it can be adopted.
